Academic Self-Efficacy and Occupational Anxiety of Physical Education Teacher Candidates

Abstract:

The main purpose of this research was to determine the academic self-efficacy and occupational anxiety levels of the physical education teacher candidates. 212 physical education teacher candidates participated in the survey conducted in the general screening model. In the study "Academic Self-Efficacy Scale" and "Occupational Anxiety Scale for Teacher Candidates" were used as a data collection tools. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics, t test for independent groups and regression analyzes were used. In the study it has been seen that physical education teacher candidates’ academic self-efficacy and occupational anxiety level were moderate. While in the comparison according to the gender it was seen that a significant difference in the level of academic self-efficacy however there was no significant difference in the occupational anxiety. In the study it was found that significant relationship between academic self-efficacy and occupational anxiety levels. In addition, with it was also observed that academic self -efficacy is a meaningful and significant predictor on the occupational anxiety
