BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION'S OF SEABATHS IN OTTOMAN EMPIREKeywords: deniz hamam?,i?letme,gelir,y?netim Abstract: While bath machines were invented in order to benefit from marine culture in Europe in the early 18th century, a different marine culture began to develop in the Ottoman Empire. These baths, also known as deniz banyosu, derya hamam? or derya banyosu, have been in the foreground as an entertainment and resting place especially for the people of Istanbul. Seabaths, especially in terms of its services, madeits mark on the 19th century. These businesses, which have a significant place in the 19th century, have succeeded in maintaining their function until the last period of the 20th century. They became a modern enterprise, especially after passing under the control of the municipality in Istanbul and a significant progress has been made in the profit margin. Seabaths were established in ?stanbul and other coastal cities as well as in the cities by the rivers which are used for swimming. It was seen that these baths were also been built together with hot springs to take advantage of spawater. While the number of these baths were around 20 in their first years, they rapidly increased to over 80. These bathes were open during the summer season and continued to exist by selling food and beverages in the winter months
