As the Ottoman bureaucracy took shape in the reign of Suleiman the Lawgiver, legalization activity became widespread. During this time, court records, which are among the main sources of the Ottoman legal history, have also gained a systematic structure. Court records belonging to this era are much numerous than the previous ones. After providing general information about the qadis and their records, including graphs indicating their numbers, we will scrutinize a series of exceptional cases. We will then give a list of the court registers belonging to this era.
