THE MATRIX MOVIE, IN THE LIGHT OF REALITY, POWER AND HUMAN BODY CONSEPTSKeywords: Matrix, ger?eklik, beden, iktidar,Baudrillard, simülasyon Abstract: The question of what is reality has occupied philosophers throughout human history. A reflection of this search can be seen in movies as well as in numerous departments of art. The Matrix (1999), one of the most discussed movies In recent years is a good instance of linking different concepts to reality. The Matrix contains overtones of the book Simulacra and Simulations by Jean Baudrillard can also be found in the film. People are not aware that they are in a cognitive prison which can be described as a simulation. Machines control The Matrix and for this control, “a false consciousness” was formed. In this respect, the movie is a good example, able to shed light on discussions of modern-day power and reality. The machines use the energy produced by human body. This system took form through the production of power; with regards to the concepts of production, the means of production, and power, it's open to deeper study. It's possible to see reflections of simulacras, in The Matrix, classifying them as nature, means of production and surveillance tools. The phrase "the desert of the real" that Baudrillard used while he was explaining the end of the simulation is mentioned in the same way in The Matrix movie. Meaning the termination of The Matrix infers the complete end of the natural beauties, in the real world, never to be experienced again. The real world will be described as "the desert of the real" and those who escape The Matrix will come across the bleak reality
