Women’s Touch on the City Councils: An Evaluation of S？ke City Council in Term of Women's Assembly

City councils, which came to exist in the context of the Program Local Agenda 21 in Turkey, were applied in 1997 with the decision of Council of Ministers and acquired a legal basis with the Municipality Law No: 5393 came into force in 2005. Within the city councils that are important for the development of local democracy aims to reach out the citizens of the city and the citizens participate in the decisions related to the city by establishing women, children, youth, elderly, retired, handicapped and neighborhood assemblies. Women’s committees are occured as quite important formations in this context. In this context, An Evaluation of carried out the activities of the Women's Assembly included in the Soke City Council is aimed in the study.The activities of the S？ke City Council Women’s Committee are classified, and evaluations have been made. As a result of the study, it has been determined that women's hands can reach / reach every problem related to the city, not only native to women problems by means of Women's Assembly
