University Students’ Metaphors About Pedagogical Formation Lessons

Abstract:

The aim of the study is to determine the opinions students trainee pedagogical formation training about pedagogical formation lessons. The study is qualitative and phenomenology design. The study group consist of one hundred and fifty university students trainee at out of faculty of education in 2015-2016 academic year at Cumhuriyet University. To collect data, the researchers developed a form to determine the university students’ opinions about lessons. Data analyzed by content analysis. According the results university students have positive metaphors generally about pedagogic lessons. For some of the lessons in the pedagogic formation education, a complex, exhausting lesson theme arrived at (private teaching methods, measurement and evaluation, introduction to educational science). According to students, there is a practical lesson about teaching practice. All the metaphors related to the educational psychology course are positive, and the most emphasized subject is the theme of analytical review and having a critical prescription. One of the suggestions is that it should be offered opportunities to enhance students 'acquaintance with psychology or other social sciences and showed film, theater or literary literature related to educational psychology in the classroom
