Politicization of Alevism in The Context of Rel？gious Nat？onalism

The study, which tries to explain the politicization process of Alevism from the perspective of religious nationalism, basically, has focused on the socio-political conditions that resulted in the politicization of Alevism, rather than the Alevism and the demands of it; the process of its articulation to religious nationalism has been examined in the context of religious boundaries and threats by emphasizing the antagonistic character of Alevism politicization, positioned against Sunni politics. Thus, it is aimed to reveal the issues that constitute Alevism politics in a theoretical framework and to discuss a ground that can help to realize this. In this context, the process of politicization of Alevism has been examined in five major periods in terms of the processes of "social autism", "opening up", "vacillation", "identity design" and "identity creation". The formation of the boundaries of the Alevism and the apparent threats to these borders have been revealed within each period and also the political reactions given by Alevis in the face of these situations have been examined in terms of the effects on the political process
