DETERMINATION of THE DIAGNOSTIC VALUE of ?APA SOCIAL PHOBIA SCALE FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS in ADOLESCENTSKeywords: Ad?lesan,tarama testi,sosyal fobi Abstract: The aim of the study is to determine the diagnostic value of ?apa Social Phobia Scale For Children and Adolescents and to evaluate the relationship between social phobia and other psychiatric disorders in adolescents. ?apa Social Phobia Scale For Children and Adolescents, was used for the evaluation of social phobia doubt. According to the Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia for School Age Children-Present and Lifetime Version-Turkish Version the diagnoses were defined as "gold standard". The sensitivity and selectivity of the optimal cut point of scores obtained by ?apa Social Phobia Scale For Children and Adolescents were analyzed by ROC method. Of the study group, 78 (41.7%) were male and 109 (58.3%) were female. The age of the students ranged from 14 to 18 years, with a mean age of (SD) 15.86 (0.97) years. The sensitivity and specificity of the ?apa Social Phobia Scale For Children and Adolescents were 91.7% and 61.3%, respectively, when the optimal cut-off point 76 was calculated for the detection of social phobia. In the study, anxiety disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders were higher in adolescents who have social phobia than who have not (p<0.05). This community-based study shows that when the ?apa Social Phobia Scale For Children and Adolescents was cut-off point is 76, it can be used for social phobia screening.
