Abstract:

Early childhood children are curious, exploratory, imaginative and questioning. In order to support the development of children in this direction, to create solid foundations for Science knowledge, opportunities should be given to them where they can investigate, find out their curiosity, see the cause-effect relationship, and make predictions by suggesting various ideas. The purpose of this research is to determine the ideas and perceptions of preschool teachers on weather events (snow, rain, hail, fog, dew, frost). In particular, children should be aware of these questions that pre-school teachers face in response to inquiries about the events happening in their surroundings. The sample of the study is 44 preschool teachers in 2015-2016 spring period in A?r? city center. As data collection tool was used questionnaire composed of open-ended questions with personal information form. The obtained data are given as percentages and frequency also analyzed by using the descriptive analysis method. According to the results determined above, we think that the weather events of pre-school teachers are limited and that the teachers who graduated from the associate degree program do not give much room to science activities. As a result of the study, it was found to have incorrect information about weather events of the pre-school teachers
