FROM THE QUR’ANIC PERSPECTIVE; MIGRATION (IN THE CONTEXT OF EXPULSION)Keywords: Tefsir,Mülteci,G??,Kur'an,Hicret,?hra?,Suriyeli Abstract: The Qur’an speaks of the reality of migration, which many people have endured throughout history, within its own terminology and in accord to the divine purpose. The phenomenon of migration appears with various names in relation to its causes, and the Qur’an seems to conceptualize this phenomenon by taking the stages of migration into account. The migration that the Prophet and the believers performed in the cause of God was, from the Qur’anic point of view, due to the unbelievers’ actions to force them leave their homeland. Thus the Qur’an takes up a stage of migration with the notion of ikhraj or expulsion and with its near-synonyms. The Qur’an gives advices to the Muslims through and after this stage and consoles them on various occasions. This paper will determine the place of the stage of ikhraj within the phenomenon of hijra or migration and its usage in the Qur’an. It will then discuss the messages derived from this usage for believers and, in particular, the believing Syrian refugees in Kilis and what these messages allude in terms of spiritual health, given their losses of social status and economic sufficiency, in a multidisciplinary manner by using data from the areas of Qur’anic commentary, sociology, and psychology. This study aims to introduce the Syrian refugees, who have undergone asylum with negative semantic field composed of losers and losses, to the notions of migration, as well as expulsion, as a phenomenon of social change with positive dimension and that might bring with many material and spiritual gains
