Abstract:

The aim of this study was to evaluate health management students’ employment situation and to determine the effect of their self efficacy on this. Data were collected by electronic questionnaire in this descriptiveresearch. Population of this study was graduates finishing health management department between 1988 and 2017. It was considered sufficient to reach number of study group that will provide the validity and reliability. The questions to determine the employment status were created by the researchers in accordance with the purpose of the research. Self efficacy scale developed by Ye?ilay (1996) was used. The Cronbach alpha coefficient of the scale was calculated as 0.92. Study group consisted of 255 (F/M: 162/93) participants. Majority of the study group (58.80% ) didn’t have a job. 66.70% of the group having a job worked in their field. Self efficacyavarage of the study group was found as 3.78±0.89. It was observed that employment rates of health management graduates was low and some of the group worked in different sector. In addition, women's employment level was higher than men's. The level of education also greatly affected the employment rate. It was found thatself efficacyavarage of gradutes was high. It was determined that relation ship between gender, the university was graduated, working status and self efficacy. It was found that men's self efficacy was higher than women, and self-efficacy level of group having a job was higher than didn’t
