EVALUATION OF THE 3RD TOURISM COUNCIL DECISIONS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF TOURISM PLANNING AND POLICY

The developments, changes and future expectations that emerged in the field of tourism are handled with the participation of all stakeholders; The Tourism Council, a platform for evaluating coherent, holistic and effective strategies, is an important road map for evaluating the current situation of the tourism sector and achieving the goal of creating a national tourism policy for the future. The developments experienced since 2002, when the Second Tourism Council was implemented, necessitated that new strategies and visions in the tourism sector be passed on with effective and consistent policies. For this purpose, 13 commissions consisting of 333 members were formed within the scope of the 3rd Tourism Department, which was attended by representatives of public institutions and organizations related to tourism, tourism professional organizations, non-governmental organizations and researchers. In this study, the whole of the 3rd Tourism Council reports were analyzed and the problem identifications and recommendations of each commission were analyzed in the context of tourism planning and policy formulation. The "Environment, Planning and Infrastructure Commission", "Tourism Policy Commission" and "Local Administrations and Tourism Commission", which have priorities in the determination of tourism policies and planning activities, have been examined in detail from the established commissions
