THE KNOWLEDGE LEVEL OF 12TH. GRADE HIGH SCHOOL OF FINE ARTS STUDENTS ABOUT THE INSTITUTIONS TRAINING PROFESSIONAL MUSIC EDUCATION IN TURKEY

This research was done with the aim of measure the knowledge level of 12th. Grade high school of fine arts students about the kind of education the institutions training professional music education (Turkish music education, western music education, etc.) and the content of education (instrument training, vocal training, theory education, etc.). This research matter in terms of eliminate frustrations by enabling the right choice in the university elections of students, to be able to prevent material and moral damage after winning the university and be- have conscious about the preferences of music departments of universities to receive training. The universe of the research is composed of the eighty one fine arts high school giving music education in Turkey. The sample is composed of 12th grade students from fourteen fine arts high school selected as territorially. ？n the research data prepared by the researcher, semi-structured data were collected by the collect tool. The results obtained from 214 students who participated in the survey are tabulated with rates arithmetic average and frequency. It was inferred that the knowledge level of students about music departments of universities is not adequate
