A Collarborative Model for Everyday Space Production: Surface Coloring Project in Mehmet ？zer Street in Denizli Babada？

Locality within urbanization processes proposes a socio-economic and spatial context that is usually assessed with “financial and cultural losses”. Especially onwards the 90s, facts related to economic and social issues that are desired to be revitalized become the subject of projects within such context. Relevant projects can be studied as local reconstructive processes via tourism investments. The caption “cultural landscape” defined by UNESCO as “geographic areas consisting of cultural and natural resources, associated with a historical event and activity or performing various cultural and aesthetic values” is a prominent concept for correlated projects to be studied within such context. Within architectural practices, “street renovation” projects that are associated directly with the context, facts and concepts in question can be assessed within such scope. Within the defined frame, the article aims to trace the transformation in favor of urbanization within the locality of Babada？, one of the prominent towns in the history of textile industry of Denizli for a particular period, through an application project within a “renovation” program. The intention is to present an internal assessment and a case study through “Mehmet ？zer Street Surface Renovation and Process Documentation Project as a Participatory Initiative Regarding Qualitative Every Day Life Production” that has been recently completed in December 2017. The article consists of an introduction concerning the facts and problematics associated with the project which is followed by consecutive sections that present the definition and intention of the project, the methodology and stages, design and application strategy and finally an internal assessment through the results
