Economic Mission and Future Perspective in Urban Management

Cities, as the center of their economic activities, are determinants of their developmental qualities by their activities in this area. While the cities fulfill the functions of production and market; the value added they produce, the distribution of the economic sectors, the nature of the workforce, the structure of employment, the economic area in which it stands out and the areas of potential development are considered as important factors determining the process. In the transformation process we live in, new perspectives are needed in decision making mechanisms of city administrations, methods of providing services, urban organizations and investments. In the context of the future perspective, this study is based on the assumption that cities that are able to put their identities in economic terms and aware of their local and regional dynamics can survive and continue to develop at a competitive level. In order to be able to flourish the potentials of the cities, the issues of increasing economic activity, creating funds for financing, reconsidering human and natural resources are evaluated. In addition, by examining the literature related to this work, an attempt was made to establish a urban vision on the main factors and process that determine the urban development levels
