Analysing Activity Participation and Quality of Life in Subjects with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary DiseaseKeywords: Obstruktif Akci?er Hastal???,aktivite,kat?l?m,ya?am kalite Abstract: Analysing Activity Participation and Quality of Life in Subjects with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease The present study was planned for investigation of the relationship between functional status, activity participation and quality of life in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients. Seventy-five participant with COPD from Pamukkale University and Public Hospital in Denizli were included. Mean age of all subjects were 68.44±8.98 years. Six-minute walking distance test, Saint George Respiratory Questionnaire, Medical Research Council Dyspnea Scale, Activity Participation and Leisure Assessment and work module used to evaluate each participant. The results of this study indicate that when the severity of the disease increased, the functional status, quality of life and activity participation of the participants with COPD decreased (p<0.05). Moreover, the loss of functional status was found to be a negative factor on the quality of life and activity participation in participants with COPD (p<0.05). It was shown seen that in the participants with activity limitation, the quality of life decreased as well (p<0.05). According to results obtained from this study, COPD affects not only quality of life, functional status and activity participation negatively but also affects pulmonary functions
