HOMESICKNESS IN CLASSICAL TURKISH LITERATURE AND NEVRES-I KADIM'S HOMESICKNESS

Homesickness, longing and separation are the indispensable themes of Divan poetry. Separation in the Divans was used mostly in the sense of separation from divine love, from "bezm-i elest", that is, divine affection. For the Divan poet, being apart from a lover is longing. In this article, the use of longing in Classic Turkish literature in the sense of being away from your homeland, especially Nevres-i Kadim's the Divan, is described with the examples of his works
