A QUALITATIVE RESERACH ON THE APPROACHES OF HOTEL MANAGERS ON STRATEGY FORMATION

In this study, it is aimed to examine the approaches of hotel managers on strategy formation. A qualitative research has been carried out on hotels in Bolu, Düzce and Sakarya to reach this aim. According to the findings of the research it had been determined that the plans have been designed as short, medium and long term and they have been renewed according to the changing conditions in the environment. On the other hand, it has been found that hotel managers consider strategy as a whole, often avoiding maneuvers and consider the position of the competitors to a considerable degree in strategy formation. The limitations of the study are including limited hotels and working on a certain local cities. It is expected that the results of this study will draw the attention of managers to strategy formation and contribute to the literature in this area
