Investigation of the Noise Pollution Created by the Basement Works in the CityKeywords: Gürültü Kirlili?i,?ehir Merkezleri,?n?aat sahalar?,Temel ?n?aat?,dBA Abstract: In our country, the construction sector is growing rapidly. In addition to mass housing projects on the edge of the city, construction is rapidly taking place in city centers. The old building, which was rapidly renewed due to the earthquake hazard, causes some problems in the city centers. The main problems are traffic congestion, high-toned vehicles crossing the streets, building construction, building demolition dust, and noise. In this study, noise pollution was investigated in construction site areas. A noise gauge was used for the measurement and the results were evaluated in terms of dBA. The measurement result was found to be 75-80 dBA as an average, and it was observed that these values exceeded the limits of the Environmental Hazard Assessment and Management Regulation. Noise values were measured instantaneously above 85 dBA. Noise above 85 dBA creates serious disturbances on people in city centers. As a solution to this discomfort, low sounding equipment should be used and sound walls and site areas should be surrounded. In addition, work should be done in the daytime hours in the workshops and the use of the devices which produce loud sounds should be planned as the hours when people will be at least disturbed
