Role Ambiguity Perceptions of Volleyball Players Between Ages 15-18

The aim of this research is to investigate the perception of the role ambiguities of young volleyball players in offense and defence according to various variables and to test how the role ambiguity affects the athletes according to their demographic characteristics. The research was carried out in Galatasaray, Fenerbah？e, Istanbul Büyük？ehir Belediyesi Spor with 56 male and 69 female athletes selected randomly. In the study, the "role complexity scale" developed by Beauchamp et al. (2002) was adapted to Turkish. The data were analysed through the Mann-Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis-H tests in the SPSS 19.0 statistical program. As a result of the research, it has been found that men have more role ambiguity about the "uncertainties regarding the scope of role responsibilities" than women, age has no effect on the ambiguity of the role, the athletes have more role ambiguity than the substitute players and that the transposers have more role ambiguity than others
