Investigation of Spatial Abilities of Prospective Science Teachers

The aim of the study is to examine the spatial abilities of prospective science teachers participating in Technology Assisted Instructional (TAI) practice. In the study, one group pretest and posttest experimental designs were used as quantitative research methods. The working group consist 64 science teaching program prospective teachers. MGMP Spatial Ability Test was used as data collection tool. SPSS package program was used for analyzing the data. As a result of the research, it was seen that prospective teachers increased their scores on each question type, especially those from 2D to 3D and 3D to 2D visualization types are higher than others after the instruction. In the direction of the results obtained, it is suggested that practices should also be included at the level of undergraduate degree which develop spatial abilities of prospective teachers and carry out investigations on the relationship between them by considering different variables affecting spatial ability
