THE CONCEPT OF LOVE IN MELAYê CIZ？R？’S POETRY

ABSTRACT: Love is a dominant theme in classical Kurdish poems especially in the lyrical and epic poems. Malaye Jiziri is considered to be the most influential Kurdish poet who regards 'love' (e？q) and 'beauty' as the source of existence. This is due to the fact that mystical poets used to discover or conceive the essence of God in everything they encountered in their lives. This research is about the "love" in the poems of Jiziri, it attempts to show the type of love that the poet gives life to and it also delineates his different views on it. This study is made up of two chapters, in the first chapter the idea of love is explained from philosophical, religious and mystical points of view, while in the second chapter the subject of love is explained in connection with true love, divine love (the fifth element), metaphoric love and fire worshiping love
