Evaluation of the Attitudes Towards the Sport of Who Do Sports as a Sportive Recreation Activity in termes of Gender and Marital Status

The aim of this study was to evaluate the attitudes towards the sport of athletes who do sport as a sportive recreation activity according to gender and marital status. In this respect, 79 female and 122 male playing table tennis totally 201 table tennis athletes participated in the study voluntarily. In order to determine the attitudes of the athletes towards sports, “The Attitude towards Sports Scale” was used. Since the data were distributed normally, parametric tests were used in the analyses. In the analysis of data, independent samplest-test analysis was used to evaluate the attitude towards sports according to gender and marital status. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the scores of the interest in sports subscale (t=2.65; p<0.05). There were no differences according to marital status (p>0.05). As a result, we can say that female's attitudes towards sports are more relevant than male
