Graduate Education in Turkey and a Philosophical View on Graduate Education

In order to reach our country’s specified targets in global competition, human resource of researcher needs to be increased quantitatively and developed qualitatively. For this reason, the necessity of developing graduate education in our country is quite obvious. It is vital important that understanding of the nature of graduate education, and also designing and applying it according to this situation. In this context, the current quantatively state of graduate education in Turkey and its position relative to other developed countries is put forward. Graduate education and its problems will be examined considering the philosophical perspective. Later, some suggestions will be made to improve the current situation of graduate education, especialy Ph.D. education, according to the identified problems
