The Effect of Public Sphere on the Identity Issue in the European Union

In the European Union (EU), identity issue has been in the Union’s agenda for a long time and it has been discussed how the sense of belonging of European citizens to the Union can be created and how an identity can be constructed in the EU. In this article, the concept of public sphere will be analysed as a deliberation sphere, it will be discussed the potential role of the construction of European public sphere for the creation of European identity by considering democracy and citizenship concepts in the EU
