In this study, the patients who applied to an university hospital emergency department between 24.10.2017-01.05.2018 with vertigo were studied prospectively. It was aimed to determine the central causes of the applicants who had been dizzy. In our study; acute-subacute infarction was found in brain MRI in 7,7% of patients with positive Romberg test, 15,8% of patients with dysmetria and 16,7% of patients with dysdiadokinezia. Acute-subacute infarction was found in 3 patients (6,7%) of 45 patients without nystagmus, while no acute-subacute infarction was detected in any of the 5 patients with horizontal nystagmus (0%). When evaluating vertigo patients, the careful examination of neurological symptoms is essential for not missing central vertigo causes
