EXAMINATION OF ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT LEVELS OF BASKETBALL PROVINCIAL REPRESENTATIVEKeywords: ?rgüt,?rgütsel Ba?l?l?k,?l Temsilcileri,Basketbol,Federasyon Abstract: The objective of this research is to analyze the commitment of Provincial Basketball Representatives to the Federation in terms of emotional commitment, continuous commitment and normative commitment, including various demographical characteristics. The population of this study comprises of any and all the provincial representatives working under the Basketball Federation. For this purpose, 81 voluntary provincial representatives, 2 of them are women, while 79 of them are men, under the Turkish Basketball Federation, participated in this study.The survey was sent to the provincial representatives via e-mail, thus being received in the same manner, after which they’re analyzed. The information form of the survey comprises of demographical characteristics and “Organizational Commitment Scale” designed by Meyer and Allen (1984) adapted into Turkish by Wasti (2000). The conformance of the quantitative data to the normal distribution was tested with Kolmogorov Smirnov test. Mann Whitney U test was utilized for the dual-group comparison of quantitative data indicating normal distribution, while the Kruskal Wallis test was used for three or more groups indicating normal distribution. Spearman’s Correlation Analysis was applied for the evaluation of the interactions between the parameters. The Significance was interpreted on p<0.05 and p<0,01 scales.Following the research,The lower grade for “Emotional Commitment” is in the range between “1,67 – 5”, and the average is 4,15±0,71. The lower grade for “Continuous Commitment” is in the range between “1,43 – 4,71”, and the average is 2.68±0,66. The lower grade for “Normative Commitment” is in the range between “1, 20 - 5”, and the average is 3,69±0,82. In accordance with these results, no significant difference was observed on the Organizational commitment levels of Provincial representatives in line with their age, educational backgrounds of both bachelors and others, as well as their task preferences via the analysis carried out on three sub-dimension of commitment (P>0.05). However, a significant difference was observed in the same when analyzed in terms of the marital status, term of office, their previous positions (sportsman, coach, referee, technical commissioner, etc.), including the findings obtained (P<0.05). It was found out that the emotional and normative commitments of the Provincial Representatives to the federation is strong, while the continuous commitment to the same is weak
