Analysis of the Publication of Emergency Medicine Specializas Theses

Purpose: In this study, it is aimed to determine the publication rates of the theses which are specialization in Emergency Medicine held in Turkey in 2010-2015 years made in the field as scientific articles. Materials and Methods: In this retrospective and descriptive study, the rates of publication of national and international scientific journals in Pubmed, Google Scholar and Magazine Park databases in 539 emergency medicine in National Thesis Center database were investigated. Results: It was determined that 21% (n = 112) of the 539 specialization thesis in emergency medicine was prepared in 2015 and 99,8% (n = 532) were prepared in the universities. It was observed that 12.2% (n = 65) of these studies consisted of orthopedics and traumatology. The rate of publication of the studies in national and international scientific journals was 20.8% (n = 111) and it was published in 6 months at the earliest. Similarly, 9.8% (n = 52) of these publications were published in Science Citation Index and Science Citation Index-Expanded. Conclusion: In line with the developments in emergency medicine in the world, scientific publication production in this field increases every year. in Turkey it is increasing the number of publications in line with global developments. However, the number of thesis in the field of emergency medicine is increasing every year, while the number of scientific publications does not increase. In order to increase this ratio, literature should be scanned and current studies should be done
