Contribution of Kartepe Test and Research Center (KARTEAM) Project to Vocational Education and Employment

Nowadays, it places great importance to increase and progress production technologies by way of strengthening industrial substructures in the world and in our country. In order to achieve required capacity and quality on industry, it is necessary qualified workforce having sufficient technical background and perfection. In this context, the main responsibility of secondary and higher education, give technical education, is to provide workforce having adequate knowledge to serve changing and developing industrial production technologies. Many education institutions try to train expert with restricted source and laboratory substructures. But they fail to satisfy over against rapidly changing technologies and increasing day by day demand skilled labor. In an institution, gives applied technical education with inadequate substructures, cause to be trained insufficient workforce. Within this scope, it is necessary to construct a training environment with strong substructures and owing current technological equipments. In this study, Kartepe Test and Research (KARTEAM) project realized to develop laboratory substructure of Kocaeli University Uzun？iftlik Nuh ？imento Vocational High School and so improve quality of high school’s students and their employment rate in accordance with needs of sector/industry and constitute a dynamic, interactive, participative structure with industry and university is introduced. KARTEAM funded by East Marmara Development Agency (MARKA) within the scope of “Development of Production Infrastructures Small Scale Infrastructure Funding Program” and executed by Kocaeli University has been established in 2016. Sample preparation, destructive inspection and nondestructive inspection laboratories elaborated in the study have been constructed and brought university laboratory substructure within KARTEAM project. So, it is provided to satisfy the need of sector/industry and additionally own student and instructor to current technological competence
