CHARACTER AND CHARACTERIZATION IN THE NOVEL OF THE “DON’T SHOOT THE KITE”

Book of Feride ？i？eko？lu’s Don't Shoot The Kite is, a work of the author inspired by her own life. She himself was arrested after the military coup of 12 September 1980 and between 1980-84, she stayed in Mamak Military Prison and Ankara Central Prison, the first novel of the author Don't Shoot The Kite, it is also available for biographical reading. The work consists of letters written by Bar？？, a child person, from prison to ？nci and covering a period of one year. It is a multi-layered work written with letter-novel technique, which also includes many narrative techniques such as narration-show, summarization, and flashback. In the foreword of the work of the author in the period he was detained in prison in the work he said he wrote to reach other people to the voice of Bar？？, through Bar？？ experiences and lived the transfer of what is seen. However, the work also gives the impression of the memory / memoir of the past to be forgotten. There is no detailed study of Feride ？i？eko？lu’s this novel earlier, in general, Tülin Sad？ko？lu has not seen any studies other than the unpublished master's thesis. In this article, character, author's characterization style and especially the narrator of the work and the characterization of the work will be focused on the characterization of Bar？？ and ？nci. In addition, it is aimed that the study will be a guide and a useful source for the new researches in the field of literature
