THE RESEARCH OF VARIABLES EXPLAINING THE WORK SAFETY COMMITMENT OF SENIOR MANAGEMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF SAFETY CULTURE: THE INSTANCE OF DEN?ZL? Sa?l??? ve Güvenli?i Abstract: The basic responsibility of the measures to be taken for the health and safety of employees in a workplace belongs to the management of the organization. The management commitment to safety (YGB) of the directors in organizations and the manner in which this commitment is perceived in the workforce is an important indicator to contribute to the establishment of safety culture. The purpose of the study is to determine the factors affecting the management commitment to safety of the managers in the employee perceptions. Variables to be examined in YGB are quoted from the safety culture literature. The research is non-experimental, cross-sectional and quantitative research design. Survey method was used in data collection methods. The application was conducted with 48 questions, including a five-point Likert response component. Descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used together in the analysis of the research. According to the results of the survey, safety incentive, safety leadership and safety training activities to be carried out by the municipality-specific management explain the management commitment to safety 66,2%. According to this conclusion, municipalities need to encourage management to work towards security, to carry out effective safety leadership and safety trainings as priority safety action
