Both quantitative and qualitative research designs were used and this study was conducted with a mixed method. The qualitative research has been conducted on 1016 students attending to the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades at secondary schools in Kad?k?y district of Istanbul, and the data were collected between November 2014 and February 2015. The qualitative data were obtained from 50 students attending 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades at secondary schools in Kad?k?y, between March 2015 and April 2015. The qualitative data were analyzed by using content analysis technique. The quantitative data show that the students describe their teachers as average level in ‘teacher student relations’ and ‘compliance to the teaching and educational principles’. Students declared that teachers pay avarage regard to classroom management principles. According to the qualitative data, students require teachers to display humorous attitude and to make lessons entertaining. Students wish to be awarded by marks, being warned verbally, and forgiven instead of punishment. Students would like their teachers to include entertaining activities and games. In addition, it is anticipated that providing teachers with pre-service and in-service-oriented trainings in relation to the classroom management will help prevent disruptive behaviors in class and realize more effective teaching and learning activities
