Example of Application on Water and Energy Management in Green Building Design

Rapid consumption of water resources, global warming, increasing air pollution in cities and day-to-day depletion of natural resources necessitate the construction of environment-friendly and ecological buildings in rapidly developing construction sector. While the attention to the construction of environmental-friendly buildings is increasing, the new structures that are named as green-buildings come up. Buildings, that are labeled as green, ecological, climate and environment-friendly, zero-carbon emission, high-performance etc., become a main issue in terms of the environment. In this study, the essential steps are researched for designing a residence in Karabah？e Village of Samsun Province in accordance with green-building concept, sustainability and environmental progress in real estate sector. The examination is made on the selected residence within the scope of green-building criteria and the necessary arrangements to be made on residence, are revealed. In addition, some suggestions are made about water management, more efficient usage of water and energy efficiency in the selected residence
