The Effect of Multiple-Representations Based on Algebra Instruction Attitudes toward MathematicsKeywords: Cebir,?oklu temsil temelli ??retim, matematik, tutum Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of multi-representation based on algebra instruction supported by computer software on seventh grade students' attitudes toward mathematics. Experimental study was carried out with a total of 60 seventh grade students, 30 experimental and 30 control groups, which were designed according to pre-test, post-test control group trial model and in state secondary school in ?zmir province in the 2014-2015 academic year. Computer software-aided multi-representation based on instruction in algebra instruction was applied to the experiment group students and the traditional instruction method was applied to the control group students. As a data collection tool, attitude scale for mathematics was used in the study in which the quantitative research method was adopted. Computer software supported activities prepared by GeoGebra program. In data analysis, Shapiro-Wilks normality test, unrelated samples t-Test and Mann-Whitney U test were used. As a result of the research, a significant difference was found between the mean scores of the attitudes towards mathematics of the experimental group in which the computer aided multi-representation-based on algebra instruction was applied and the control group students in favor of the experimental group
