Identifiying The Problem Areas in which School Guidance Teachers Need School Social WorkKeywords: Okul Sosyal Hizmeti,Sosyal Hizmet,Sosyal Hizmet Uzman?,Rehberlik ??retmeni,Rehberlik Servisi Abstract: The purpose of the research is to identify the problem areas in which school guidance teachers need school social work. The study is a quantitative study conducted with 100 guidance teachers selected from five densely populated regions of ?zmir (Bornova, Karaba?lar, Konak, Kar??yaka, Buca). In addition to the basic socio-demographic information of the participants, data were collected through a questionnaire form which included questions about the problems they encountered at school and their thoughts and needs for school social work. Data of the study were gathered through face to face interviews. SPSS version 15.0 was used to interpret the data. According to the findings of the study, it can be concluded that guidance teachers mostly have knowledge about social work profession and think that social workers will contribute to the solution of school problems. It has been found out that most guidance teachers face problems such as failure, aggression, neglect, abuse in school environments, domestic violence, drug addiction and drift, and they need social workers to solve these problems. Therefore, the implementation of the school social work practice and the introduction of the school social service area are considered to be very important
