Usage of Hadith in Safahat

Mehmet Akif Ersoy, made an effort to find a solution for the problems in the last period of Ottoman Empire. As one of his goals; he tried to influence people by making use of verses and hadiths in his book Safahat which consists of poems that aim to serve this purpose. Today, we still need the messages he wanted to give us as individual and society. In this article, it will be evaluated the hadiths which our national poet used in Safahat, by analyzing them and it will be researched and hadith knowlegde and devotion to religion and also his effort to influence people for this aim. While Mehmet ？kif sometimes used verse and hadith as title in his poems, he sometimes refered them by strewing these elements between the lines. In some of the poems, he poetized his feelings with his own sentences by inspiring from verse and hadith. Analyzed with certain examples, in our article consisting of 3 parts, it will be searched that our national poet’s usage of hadith by acting scrupulously and it will be also searched the reason why he used weak and fabricated hadith narratives
