Procept Levels of 8th Grade Students' Mathematical Thinking Skills According to the Theory of “Three Worlds of Mathematics”Keywords: Matematiksel dü?ünme,Matemati?in ü? dünyas?,Procept Abstract: In the study, it is aimed to examine mathematical thinking skills of 8th grade students. Procept levels in the three worlds of mathematics developed by Tall (2007) is basis for the research. The case study has been adopted as a qualitative research design. Procept levels consist of three levels: procedure, process and procept. The research was conducted in 2017-2018 academic year. 20 students from 8th grade of a public school participated in the study in the western part of Turkey. The students were asked four questions by the researchers. They answered these questions within 40 minutes. The findings of the study were analyzed with descriptive analysis method. When the findings of the research are examined, it is determined that 8th grade students reached the level of procept because they have stated that there is a certain concept after the process. It was observed that some students could not transition to other levels of the procedure and process levels. It was found that these students only focused on the operational process and did not explain the concept. In addition, it was determined that students had difficulty in transition from arithmetic to algebra
