Comparison of some new cultivar/clones grown under protected cultivation in physico-chemical features

‘Grand Nain’ and ‘Dwarf Cavendish’ cultivars have been used banana cultivation in Turkey. However, there are many cultivar/clones under Cavendish group have been grown in the World. It was thought that tested the new cultivar/clone for adaptation purpose under subtropical conditions to contribute banana cultivation in Turkey. The objective of the study to compare some new cultivar/clones with ‘Dwarf Cavendish’ under protected cultivation in terms of fruit physico–chemical (finger weight, finger circumference, finger length, peel weight, peel thickness, peel/pulp ratio and soluble solid content) and fruit color (C and Hue angle) features. The results showed that new cultivar/clones gave the best result to ‘Dwarf Cavendish’ in terms of all investigation criteria. Among cultivar/clone in terms of fruit quality, ‘MA 13’ were recommended in the first place followed by ‘Jobo’ and ‘CV 902’
