The Opening of Fatih Fevzipa？a Street and Its Place in the Urban Development of Istanbul

？stanbul is a city dating from the Neolithic Era and has been shaped by the influence of different cultures, religions and administrators from its foundation. The historic main arteries of Istanbul that reached today, were constructed during the region of the Byzantine Emperor Constantinus I. One of these arteries is Fevzipa？a Street which is connected to the residential area of the Mese facing the Golden Horn. Fatih Fevzipa？a Street is one of the first streets of Istanbul in the republication period which is located on northwest Mese / Fatih – Edirnekap？ axis of Divanyolu in the historical process. The street was enlarged during the Menderes’ constructional practices and has taken its place in the city as one of the major arteries
