AN EVALUATION OF INNOVATION APPLICATIONS IN LOCAL GOVERNMENTS

Innovation can be defined as a monetizing, or innovation that provides added value to the economy. In this context, innovation must occur in all the organizations that wish to be better able to maintain their existence in the ever-changing and developing world. Republic of Turkey, which is one of the most important state local government bodies are also required to pay enough attention to innovation. Local administrations, which constantly renew themselves and bring innovation to their core by catching change as well as activities such as increasing productivity, increasing competitiveness, developing social awareness, institutionalization and branding, research and development (R & D), accelerating economic and social development, increasing competitiveness and innovation capacity, It provides more benefits for the society and the state by providing many field improvements such as increasing the level of activity. This study aims to make an assessment of innovation practices in local governments. For this purpose, first in Turkey innovation practices of local governments after they have made are explained briefly the subject of innovation are analyzed.
