Abstract:

Ibnu’l-Hacib (646/1249)’s al-Kafiyya on nahiv's science, was accepted as a groundbreaking treatise in his field. This work has been taught in the schools of the time it was written and is still being taught in today's schools. Ibnu’l-Hacib has improved the methods of the previous language in his work. Along with this, ?bnu'l-Hacib, who succeeded in putting forth a specific work, left a work for his works after his work. In addition, Ibnu’l-Hacib has made a change in grammar teaching in this work. As a matter of fact, he again separated the consumables and nahiv subjects that Zemah?er? had assembled in al-Mufassal, like Ibn Cinn? and Eb? Osman el-Mazin?, and wrote them separately in books. Ibnu’l-Hacib's al-Kafiye, has caught the attention of subsequent linguists. As a matter of fact, it is said that there are one hundred and forty two Arabic works written for this book. Molla Halil (1164 / 1750).who from the Ottoman Orient, received a work called al-Kafiye about the Arabic grammar like Ibnu’l-Hacib, who lived about five centuries before himself. In this work, Molla Halil is based on the Kafiye of Ibnu’l-Hacib. These two pieces have common points such as subject sorting, movement in parallel with headings and definitions, and writing of explanations by their authors in both pieces. However, there are also points that they differ. For example, in his book Molla Halil adopted the method he followed in Zemahsari's el-Mufassal and gave them a combination of grammatical subjects like him. Other than that, Molla Halil did not shorten the definitions like Ibnu’l-Hacib, but detailed them. Moreover, although he bases the disposition of Ibnu’l-Hacib, he has passed through Ibnu’l-Hacib 's al-Kafiyeh in a serious restoration, such as elaborating his definitions with explanatory records, removing undesirable expressions and expressing ambiguous expressions. Another feature of this work is that it is explained both prose and poetry for easier memorization of grammar rules. But in the al-Kafiye of Ibnu’l-Hacib, only prose is the subject. Ibnu’l-Hacib satisfied with examples of previous linguists in their sampling but Molla Halil, adding examples of these unique examples, in terms of the work of a richer sense of humility. In this report, compared the book of Molla Halil al-Si'irdi’s el-Kafiye f?’n-Nahv ve’s-Sarf which deals with Arabic grammar with Ibnu’l-Hacib’s el-Kafiye that concerning Arabic grammar. Apart from this, brief information has been given about the lives and works of the authors
