Why Do Babies Cry?

Abstract Excessive crying, commonly described as infantile colic, is the cause of 10-20%of hospital admission in infants at 2 weeks to 3 months of age. It is often associated with parental stress and exhaustion, although it is a harmless condition. An organic pathology is present only in less than 5% of these babies. Treatment is usually aimed at helping parents overcome this period comfortably rather than curingcolic.
