Economic Cooperation and The Investments Realized Between Turkey and Union of Soviet Socialist Republic During 1965-1975

The relations between Republic of Turkey and Union of Soviet Socialist Republic (1919-1923) started during War of Independence and followed a positive process up to 1940 s in general. Following the Second World War (1939-1945), Cold War Period started after 1945 in a polarized world. In this period in which a block with two polars was existing, Turkey followed a foreign policy predominantly in favor of United States of Amerika. As a result of the changing political conditions, relations with Union of Soviet Socialist Republic again normalized in 1960 ies. In line with the economic cooperation between two countries, lots of investments were made in 1970 ies. Among these were Alia？a Oil Refinery, Band？rma Sulfuric Acid Factory, Seydi？ehir Aluminum Facilities, Artvin Liv-Sheet Factory, ？skenderun Iron-Steel Factory. In this study, the economic relations between Union of Soviet Socialist Republic and Republic of Turkey during 1965-1975 were investigated and the effect of these relations from the point of founding various industrial establishments were evaluated
