Effect of Different Modified Atmosphere Packagings (MAP) on Bioactive Compounds of Kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa cv. Hayward)Keywords: Antioksidan,DPPH,flavonoid, toplam fenolik bile?ikler Abstract: This study was carried out to determine the effects of different modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) (Xtend, Aypek, Fresh and Fresh Plus) on total phenolics, total flavonoids and antioxidant activity (DPPH and FRAP assay) of ‘Hayward’ cultivar during cold storage and shelf life. Fruit of control were without the MAP. Kiwifruits were stored at 0±0.5°C and 90±5% RH during 180 days, and at 21°C and 70% RH for shelf life (5 days). Total phenolic compounds, total antioxidant and total flavonoid content of all treatments decreased during cold storage and shelf life. Bioactive compounds of MAP treated-fruits were higher than control during cold storage and shelf life. MAP treatments maintained fruit quality during cold storage and shelf life. As a conclusion, Fresh and Xtend was generally more effective than other MAP treatments during cold storage and shelf life
