Abstract:

Ibradi is a district of Antalya. Ibradi has a large cultural repertoire with the ruins of Erymnya ancient city of the Hellenistic period, which is estimated to extend into the Roman period. Ibradi is one of the oldest settlements of the region which mostly hosts the Teke Turkmen from the Salur tribe of Oghuz Turks. The region is also a home for Igdir, Afshar and Kinik (due to Seljuks) tribes. The locals live with Y?rük culture and still keep the traditional manners belonging to Middle Asia in their daily life. Due to its historical and geographical location, the district has a great cultural wealth. The aim of this research is to determine the musical structure of Ibradi by analyzing the compiled folk songs. Literature review, personal interview and field study methodologies are used in this research. The most significant factor that lead us to conduct research in this region is the lack of comprehensive study on the folk songs of the district. During our field study, 15 folk songs are compiled. The analysis of the compiled folk songs and the musical structure of Ibradi are provided in this research. As a result of the study, the folk songs performed in the region were analyzed in terms of their tunes, tempos, metronomes and last notes. It has been determined that, the musical structure of the folk songs performed in the region are generally composed of regular rhythmic melodies (k?r?k hava), have a musical tune similar to Hüseyn?, have 4/4 tempos and la as the last note
