Diabetic foot problems in diabetic patients effect on quality of life: systematic review

Background: The incidence of diabetes is increasing rapidly in societies and is considered to be an epidemic disease. This situation affects the individual due to acute or chronic complications. Diabetic foot is one of these complications and ranks first among the causes of amputation. Therefore, it is stated in the research findings that the individual's quality of life is affected negatively. Objectives: It is aimed to systematically investigate diabetic foot problems in patients with diabetes. ctives: It is aimed to systematically investigate diabetic foot problems in patients with diabetes. Methods: Data related to the subject were obtained from published databases between 2008-2016. A total of 187 trials were conducted and 9 trials meeting the inclusion criteria were evaluated. Results: Patients with diabetic foot problems have been shown to decrease quality of life due to decrease dphysical exercise, inadequate self-care, pain, presence of diabetic foot ulcer, ulcer size, infection, polyneuropathy, fasting blood glucose, amputation, poor metabolic control and self-esteem.
