THE TURKISH MEDICAL TEXT IN THE VATICAN LIBRARY: ECZā-YI LOKMāN ？EKīM

The subject of this article is Eczā-yi Lokmān ？ekīm, whose period and author is unknown. This work, which consists of 140 pages, is registered in the Vatican Library, The Catalog of Turkish Manuscript Works, number 430. As a matter of fact, it is also possible to find detailed horoscope and talisman information about the subject in that medical text. This medical text, which is located in the Vatican Library, is very important for Turkish language studies in the features of language and spelling, vocabulary (the terms of medicine, the names of plants, animals, drug, stone, mine and the information and special words of talisman, Turkish verbs). In addition, the work also contains data for different branches of science, like other medical texts. According to our researches, that Turkish medicine text written in the Arabic characters is absent both in the book of History of The Literature of Medical Sciences During in Ottoman Period and also in the catalog of The Manuscript Books in the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism, which contains the most comprehensive resources regarding medical texts. Therefore, it is considered that the study is of a quality that would contribute to studies related to Turkish medical texts
