The Effect of the Attack Therapy Process on the Anxiety and Hopelessness Levels of the Parents Who Have Disabled Children

In this study, the effect of the therapy process, which started with attack therapy, on the state-trait anxiety level and hopelessness level of the parents who have disabled children was examined. The universe of the study constitutes the parents of children who continue to a special education rehabilitation center in the Buca province of Izmir in 2017. The study is an experimental study based on pre-test, post-test model with experimental and control group. The Beck Hopelessness Scale and the Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory were applied to 40 subjects, including parents, who agreed to fill the scales. Ten volunteers with mild and medium hopelessness level and high anxiety scores were included to study. Ten people who met these criteria were also identified as control groups. Attack therapy was applied to the subjects in the study group, and no study was conducted with the control group. The study was completed between February and September 2017.
