A Study on Students’ Drawings Towards The Perception of Physical Education Teacher

The purpose of this research is to study the students’ perception of physical education teacher of who study at secondary school. It was tried to determine the students’ perception of physical education teacher by using their drawings. In this qualitative designed research, out of phenomenology model and purposeful sampling methods, maximum variation sampling method was used. The sampling of the study consisted of 547 secondary school students who study at different secondary schools in the center of Ankara in 2014-2015 academic years. While collecting research data, students were asked to fill personal information forms and to draw their physical education teachers. Content analysis method was utilized for data analysis. The data was evaluated by frequency (f) and percentage (%). As a result, it was seen that students mostly made drawings belonging to categories of “teacher as an angry person” (f=54, 10.87%), “teacher as instructive” (f=51, 10.26%), “teacher as a love factor” (f=44, 8.85%) and “teacher as a negative figure” (f=37, 7.44%)
