Lebanon in the Shade of External Actors: Saad Hariri’s Resignation Process

This article examines the impact of regional and global actors in the policy-making of Lebanese actors. In this context, the presidency crisis and the Saad Hariri’s resignation from the office of Prime Minister are to be dealt as a reflection of the regional rivalry between Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia. The article proposes some predictions regarding the probable short-term transformations of differences and conflicts of interests of the two parties by elaborating on the basic dynamics and fragilities that determine the relations of the Lebanese actors to the regional and global powers. Finally, it is defended in the article that the agenda of internal affairs as it is reshaped following Hariri’s return to Lebanon gives us the signals of once again important political developments
